CONAIR

Air Entraining Agent for Concrete

DESCRIPTION

Conair is a resin based air entraining agent for concrete.

SPECIAL PROPERTIES

Conair is
1. Concentrated for low dosage rate.
2. Gives easily controlled air contents in almost all concrete mixes.
3. Gives a high degree of frost resistence in set concrete
4. Improves resistance to de-icing salts.
5. Complies to ASTM C 260-77 and AASHO-M-154.

APPLICATION

Conair is designed to in-corporate a controlled amount of air into concrete, the air being evenly dispersed in fine discrete particles through the mix. Conair has a water-reducing effect which tends to minimize air movement on compaction. Concrete treated with conair has a high degree of resistance to frost with consequent improved durability and resistance to de-icing salts.
It should be noted that the incorporation of air into concrete reduces comprehensive strength, however, the water-reducing effect of conair tends to compensate this. It is recommended that when conair is incorporated into any concrete, site trails should be carried out to ensure correct dosage and mix design for the specific conditions. As an indication, it has been found that the inclusion of 0.030 litres (30 ml) per 50 kg cement incorporates between 4% and 6% of air into nominal 1:2:4 concrete. This figure is given as a guide only, because it will be found that variation will occur with different kinds of aggregates and different cements. Conair is vinsol resin based and conforms to most international standards.
