- Cementone Waterseal
is for use on brickwork (including clay and calcium silicate) renderings,
in situ and precast concrete , stonework (including limestone), wood,
unglazed tiles, canvas and hessian.
- Is supplied
ready for use.
- May be applied
by brush or spray.
- Will shed water-borne
dirt and not retain surface contamination.
- Helps to resist
fungal growth by keeping brickwork dry and aids insulation.
- Is colourless
and non-staining.
- Transmit air-water
vapour.
- Becomes effective
immediately after drying (approximately 3 hours)
- May be decorated
at a later date with oil or emulsion paint.
- May also be
used as per treatment for Gypsum Plaster and plaster-board prior to
wallpapering to permit subsequent removal of the wallpaper without damage
to the backing.
- Meets the requirement
of BS6477:1992 for substrate groups I & II.

Cementone Waterseal
is a highly efficient water repellant liquid for above ground porous brickwork,
cement renderings, asbestos cement , cast concrete , roughcast, all stonework,
wood and leather (including Calcerous materials, i.e.thosecontaining limestone.)
Cementone Waterseal is completely colourless and does not alter colour
or texture of the brickwork, rendering or stonework.
For maximum protection a two coat application will normally prevent and
cure penetration of rainwater through porous above ground structures.Depending
upon the nature of the surface and conditions of exposure the treatment
may be expected to given protection of up to 10 years.
Cementone Waterseal is not suitable for dustproofing concrete or cement
based floors, use cementone No.5 for sealing brickwork and stonework (including
natural stone fire surrounds.) use dilute solutions of Rendabond or Paveseal
as indicated in the application data sheets.
Occasionally, cavity walls treated with expanded foam insulation can be
found to be giving problems of damp patches which appear on internal walls
after rainfall. This is usually interstitial condensation caused by a
saturated outer leaf, or capillary action due to bridging of the cavity.
The problem may be prevented by the application of one coat of Cementone
Waterseal, which allows the walls to shed water more easily and as the
outer wall is thus constantly dry actually improves the insulation and
reduces heat loss.
